This page describes the current static pages and browser-local tools published by Smells Like Wood. There is no public account, newsletter subscription, comment system or contact form in this interface.
Your tool inputs stay in this browser
The timber species selector can save project, scent and hardness filter preferences in this browser's LocalStorage under slw:timber-selector:v1. The tool does not send these inputs to the site server or a third-party service. LocalStorage is browser storage, not an analytics cookie.
Use the tool's clear-session or reset control to remove its saved entry. You can also clear this site's data in your browser settings. Browser settings may block or remove storage; private browsing may keep it only for that browsing session. The tool handles unavailable storage, but your progress may not survive a refresh.
Analytics and page requests
Google Analytics measures page views and general usage using cookies and requests to Google. It is an analytics service, not necessary for using the tools or reading guides. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in the site configuration. Tool inputs are not included in the Analytics configuration. This version loads Analytics without an on-site consent prompt. Browser privacy controls or blocking tools may prevent collection. Google processes data under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Opening a page or loading an image still makes a request to the hosting infrastructure. The hosting provider may process ordinary delivery or security information, such as the requested URL, IP address, browser information and request time. This page does not claim that hosting logs are absent or promise an unverified retention period.
Messages you choose to send
You can contact the publisher by email at support@smellslikewood.com. Your email service and the receiving mailbox process the message you choose to send. Include the page URL and the correction or site issue, rather than sensitive personal, financial or identifying hardware information. A tool session is not automatically attached to an email.
External and affiliate links
Some retained guides contain disclosed affiliate links. Following an external link takes you to a separate provider, which may process its own request and tracking information under its policies. The tools do not place orders or send your saved inputs to those providers.
Questions and changes
Use the contact page for privacy questions about this website or a message you sent. If new forms, analytics or embedded services are introduced, the implementation and policy need to be reviewed together before those features are published.
